Specialty Insurance Options; Tips From Honest Car Dealer
Car insurance is hardly one of the more exciting topics of conversation that you may run into, but Honest Car Dealer is here with some interesting coverage options that you might not be aware of. Insurance companies are now offering some very compelling policies that can help you save money on deductibles, get a better car, and even protect your pets. Let’s take a closer look at some of these new policies and what they have to offer you.
Nationwide is currently offering a program that they call the Vanishing Deductible. The premise behind this program is simple; if you drive safely and don’t have an accident your deductible decreases each year. Drivers who use this program can see their deductible drop by $100 per year up to a total discount of $500. By simply driving safely, carrying an auto policy for at least six months and avoiding major offenses such as DUI’s you can qualify for this program which can save you a lot of money should you get into an accident and need to make a claim.
Everyone knows that new cars depreciate their value rather quickly, so Liberty Mutual devised a program called Better Car Replacement which allows you to essentially receive more money than your car is worth if it gets totaled. If your new car is totaled within a year of purchasing it and it’s under 15,000 miles they will give you the full value of the car instead of computing the current value of the car. This program was so popular that they even extended the availability of the program to include vehicles that aren’t even new. In these instances when your car is totaled you get the value of the same car one year newer with 15,000 miles less on it.
Another interesting insurance policy that has become available is coverage for pets travelling in your vehicle. Chubb Group offers pet injury coverage up to $2,000 that can be used to pay for treatment, boarding, and if the situation calls for it, euthanasia. This coverage applies to any pets travelling in your vehicle with you and even horses being hauled in trailers.
